an action figure ... in action

Before being deployed to the Middle East, one National Guardsman legally changed his name to something more befitting an action hero. Forget GI Joe. Meet Optimus Prime, from Transformers. (“Robots in disguise … Transformers … More than meets the eyes!”) He renamed himself on his 30th birthday. (WKYC: “National guardman changed his name to a toy” - 03/18/03)

“I got a letter from a general at the Pentagon when the name change went through and he says it was great to have the employ of the commander of the Autobots in the National Guard.”
