method of payment
30 minutes and $16 in cab fare wasted …
I made the trek to the Georgetown Student Accounts office in the middle of my workday, only to be told that they accept only checks and cash for payment. Who the hell doesn’t take a credit card? (Or, in my case, a debit card that earns frequent flyer miles.) Mesa Community College accepts credit card payments. Arizona State accepts credit card payments — and online, too!
The woman I spoke to in the Student Accounts office told me that Georgetown only accepts credit card payments for summer and continuing education programs — and all that’s handled through another department anyway.
So much for pre-registration.
(And, yeah, I know it’s partly my own fault for waiting this long, but they didn’t have to make it so difficult.)
Now, back at the office, I’m seething at the stupidity and inconvenience of all this.
And I think I just said the “f-word” in front of a client. Crap.

I feel your pain.
Actually, I understand this perfectly. I will comment on it in your previous message. ;)
Poking around StudentAccess+, Georgetown’s online student services Web site, I noticed that there’s now an option to make a payment to Student Accounts via electronic check. Spiffy! :)
