seen: on the verge

I’m not the hugest fan of media personality/columnist Tina Brown, but I thought this assertion in a recent column was interesting:

Every editor, producer and reporter knows that the warp speed of the news cycle means we are all only one step ahead of some career-ending debacle.

It’s a scary thought, and given the highly competitive media environment, there’s probably more than a kernel of truth in it.
