The Washington Post reports that the Pentagon Metro station has been closed much of the morning, due to a suspected “hazardous material incident.” (“Metro Closes Pentagon Station for Possible Incident” - 12/06/04)

I’ve always wondered about the wisdom of having so high-profile a government / military building serve as a major transit hub. (The Pentagon is a major bus pick-up / drop-off point, and is one of only two Metro stations that connect Virginia and D.C.) It must be a security nightmare.
