rebuild

I upgraded Movable Type v. 3.14 last night and, after some initial hiccups, got MT-Blacklist (my comment spam filter) working early this afternoon. So far, everything’s going fabulous. The 10 comment spam messages that made it through the MT-Blacklist filter today were sent to the comment moderation queue for approval and never appeared on my site. (The only thing that’s not so fabulous is that the new dynamic individual entry and archive pages (but not the main blog index page) are a bit slower to load.)

Because of the comment spam problem, from now on, (almost) all comments posted to this site will be sent to a moderation queue and will not actually appear on the site until I’ve approved them. However, if you sign in with a TypeKey login, you’ll become a registered commenter on this site, and any comments you post will appear immediately, without the moderation delay. I’m not sure how big a deal this will be; there’s not a huge volume of comments on this site anyway.

Just testing my TypeKey powers.

Post a comment

As a spam-control measure, your comment may require my approval before it will appear on the entry. Thanks for waiting. To avoid the moderation delay, consider filling in your e-mail address. It won't appear on the site, but I use it to whitelist frequent commenters so their comments appear automatically.
