sales pitch
I got a novel sales pitch in the mail from the New York Times this week:
To receive the crossword puzzle
every day — and The Times at 50% off —
call [number omitted] now.
The mailing included two free New York Times crossword puzzles (with answers!) and a sales pitch to encourage me to renew my subscription, which I’d cancelled this past summer. So … $2.90/week, and I get a free crossword puzzle every day … and (oh yeah) all that other stuff that’s in the newspaper.
