en queue

I’ve been waiting in line since about 10:45 a.m.

Two of my browser windows are tuned into a “virtual waiting room” for Chicago Cubs single-game tickets. (They’ve set up a random lottery system to allow people to buy tickets online. Folks queue up in a “waiting room,” then are randomly permitted to buy tickets to the game(s) of their choice. I wonder how crowded the room is.)

Rob and I are going to Chicago the first weekend in May for a two-day sightseeing / soak up the city trip. We’re hoping to be able to catch a Cubs game while we’re there. The Phillies aren’t too hot a ticket, so hopefully we’ll be able to get tickets.

There also had been early talk of Rob, Shawn and I heading to Chicago in June to catch a game in the Cubs/Red Sox series, but tickets for those games vanished within a couple hours. In the meantime, I’ve watched quite a few other games get added to the “sold out” list. None from the May series against the Phillies have sold out yet; I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to get tickets.
