expressing myself
I’m quoted in the paper today!
Unbeknownst to me, the morning commuter paper Express included a quote from this blog on page 29 of today’s edition (PDF). It came as a complete surprise to me when I got an e-mail this morning from Alyssa letting me know about it.
I’m still a bit giddy about the nod, and rather curious about how the folks at Express found my site. They’re only two floors down … maybe I should ask sometime… ;)
It’s also a bit disconcerting to be noticed — and out of the blue — by folks who work at my company. I try to make sure I don’t put up anything too offsides, particularly relating to work, but it’s still a bit of a jolt being reminded that my “audience” doesn’t solely consist of people I know.
Comments
Ooh, congratulations. I’ve been away-from-TiVo for the past week so I hadn’t seen any of the new Daily Shows from the new set, and your blog was the first place I heard or seen anything about it. This means you are a trendy, trendy newsmaker.
Also, since I don’t know you, I will try to keep my presence to a minimal level so as not to be creepy. I think I covered this in my last comment but it doesn’t hurt to be redundant. Unless redundancy is creepy.
You’ve already introduced yourself, and I’ve visited your blog, so there’s no need to shrink back into the shadows of lurkerdom. :) Comment away!
I didn’t mean to imply that people outside my immediate circle aren’t welcome here, because that’s not the case at all. I just sometimes forget that there are other people who occasionally visit.
I forwarded this to Holly, and she was floored. Now she wants to meet you. :D
(Actually, I believe Express’s new local editor is the one who found the entry, so come on down and introduce yourself sometime.
Awesome! I too periodically get comments from people I don’t know and it’s flattering yet a bit creepy. At least your blog is very professional :). Congratulations! I know that you’re on the list of blogs I read to feel “in touch” with the world on a daily basis!
