DANGERDOOM!Wacky video of the day: An Adult Swim advertisement featuring Matthew Lesko, advertising a new product: “DANGERDOOM.”

It’s a trip.

My first thought when this video started was something along the lines of, “Whoa. Decaf, dude.” Then it gradually shifted to, “Whoa. This guy is INSANE … Should I be hiding under my desk in case something explodes?”

(Thanks to Doug, via Rob, for the link.)

Oh man, I have to say that that is a pretty funny commercial. You’ve seen Lesko’s other commercials, right? They’re almost exactly the same, except not quite as amped up.

And if you are not aware, the Dangerdoom product in question is the new collaborative CD release between MF Doom and DJ Danger Mouse (who became famous for his ‘Grey Album’ mashups of Jay-Z and Beatles songs).

I’ve seen Lesko’s other commercials … and a friend of mine even spotted him once — question mark suit and all — down at the National Mall. A few months ago, we saw him on this late-night television show where he took a lie detector test to “prove” that he wasn’t trying to scam people. I don’t know anything about what he’s selling … but dude. Decaf.

I didn’t know the background on the actual “Dangerdoom” product. Sounds interesting — thanks for the review link!

I knew I forgot to mention something. The reason that AdultSwim is involved in all of this is that the record is a concept album about a cartoon superhero named Dangerdoom, and the record itself features liberal amounts of AdultSwim characters—like Master Shake and Meatwad and even Brak I think.

Without this key piece of information, the whole tie-in to AdultSwim makes absolutely no sense. Whoops.

I saw Matthew Lesko at Lauriol Plaza in DC a few years ago. He was having dinner with a woman (his wife?) and was wearing the full question mark suit. Thankfully he wasn’t running around the restaurant shouting his order or anything. But he did sign a few autographs for some little kids who approached him.
