gratuity

I generally see some kind of story or sidebar about proper holiday tipping around this time of year, and this year was no exception, with this weekend’s Sunday Source featuring a long explainer about how much to tip the various types of people in your life, both everyday and during the holidays. (“Gratuities 101" - 12/11/05) I always manage to forget, so I’m linking it here for my own future reference.

As no less a figure than Benjamin Franklin once observed, “To overtip is to appear an ass: To undertip is to appear an even greater ass.”
