zeitgeist

Just as it’s interesting to see what kind of traffic search engines direct my way, it’s also fascinating to see what people are searching for in general. With the end of the year approaching, Yahoo! has posted a list of the Top Searches for 2005, broken down by category. Britney Spears was the overall search “winner.”

Google also offers its own take on search patterns with weekly reports at the Google Zeitgeist. The company hasn’t yet released its search roundup for 2005, but here’s the report from 2004.

Updated 12/21, 8:43 a.m.: The 2005 Google Zeitgeist is out. And nicely designed, too!
