the horizon

It’s been over a week, but I still can’t get over how truly awesome last week’s episode of Alias was. (Obsessive geek that I am, I watched it for probably the fourth time tonight.)

Of course, it certainly helps that the writers seem to have taken a lot of inspiration from one of my favorite movies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind — but in a good way. (Here, the situation is reversed: The scientist is trying to retrieve something from Syd’s memories, while Syd and memory-Vaughn are trying to foil that effort.) Great episode, fantastic “WTF?!” reveal at the end … and Vaughn is so not dead.

Kala — We’ll have to chat about this once you’ve had a chance to see the episode. :)

(A note about my Alias obsessiveness … I tend to fixate on one show at a time. Way back when, it was The X-Files. And then, around the time Scully had her baby, I stopped watching and moved on to Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. And when that ended, it was the final season of Angel. And for the past year and a half or so, thanks to Kala and Netflix, it’s been Alias. It’s probably a good thing that Alias is ending after this season … although I wonder what my next TV obsession will be. Veronica Mars? Lost?)
