catch-up, catch-up

This week has been such a blur … Is it really Thursday already? To recap:

Sunday, Dec. 25: Christmas with the fam. It was so (unseasonably) warm, I actually ate breakfast out on the back patio … wearing shorts. (How awesome is that?) After dinner, I learned a new card game — Hand and Foot — which still confuses me.

Monday, Dec. 26: Lunch with my family and an all-too-rare reunion of sorts with Carina, Danielle and Sarah — old friends from high school. Afterward, wedding and bridesmaid dress shopping with my mom, sister, Carina and Danielle. Separate blog entry about the latter to come; suffice to say, though, it was a successful trip. Later that night, my siblings and I visited Mom at the hospital where she works nights, and she gave us the grand tour. Then I boarded a red eye flight to Newark.

Tuesday, Dec. 27: My memory of Tuesday is obscured a bit by sleep-deprived fogginess. I don’t know if I got much sleep on the plane, as I think I kept dozing off and on. I do know that by the time I got off at Newark, I felt really deyhdrated, something that stayed with me for the rest of the day no matter how much water I drank. Had a 2 ½ hour layover in Newark, then boarded a plane to National, where Rob picked me up from the airport. Came home, took a shower, then headed in to work.

Wednesday, Dec. 28: Still groggy from the previous day’s sleep deprivation. Went to work, ran errands at lunch (returned a rejected wedding dress), then more work. Rob had dinner ready when I came home, and then we went to the gym. And then it was back to work to apply copyedits to a graphic I’d been working on, and then to home … and bed.

Thursday, Dec. 29: Wow. Thursday. It’s gray and dreary outside, and I’m having a hard time waking up.
