clap your hands say new order

A couple months ago, after hearing all the positive reviews, I tried to get on the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah train, but after a pass through their album, I decided it wasn’t my cup of tea. It’s appeared on a number of “best of 2005” lists, though, and I came to a stunning realization yesterday afternoon when one of their songs was featured on the NPR All Songs Considered podcast: “The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth(iTMS) sounds like a drunken Jack White warbling karaoke over a New Order bass line (iTMS).

Comments

I’m glad you saw it on end-of-year lists, ‘cause I sure didn’t. Ungrateful bastards: Give praise to the drunken Jack White that brought you so much joy!

And, c’mon, isn’t the opening organ of Yellow Country Teeth pretty neat?
