songs of the moment: procrastination edition

I have 13 things left on my to-do list for today, yet blogging seems much more attractive than any of them…

Songs of the Moment

Links go to the iTunes Music Store

  • Breathe Me” by Sia - I first heard this song at the PostSecret exhibit last month, and it sounded so haunting echoing in the huge open space of the gallery, matched up against the pathos expressed in so many of those confessional postcards
  • Wake Up” by The Ditty Bops (Bonus: Check out the quirky video for the vaudeville-ish “Wishful Thinking.”)
  • Crooked Teeth” by Death Cab for Cutie
  • The Engine Driver” by The Decemberists - The best part of the song is its lovely chorus. (“I am a writer/Writer of fictions/I am the heart that you call home…”)
  • Wait” by Ben Kweller - Beatles cover from a recent Rubber Soul tribute album
  • The Slow Descent into Alcoholism” by The New Pornographers - Far too catchy a tune to be healthy. I’m still sort of kicking myself for not getting tickets to one of their sold-out shows with Belle and Sebastian at the 9:30 Club in March.
