photo of the day: gallery
I’m slowly re-sifting through my honeymoon photos and uploading the better ones to Flickr in batches. After discovering Shadow/Highlight in Photoshop, I decided to go back and re-correct some of those photos before posting them. One of them was our featured photo of the day, taken in a small gallery in the lower level of the Vancouver Public Library.
The Central Library is an architecturally interesting place. (It probably has a lot of interesting books and educational programs as well. But we were there that day for the architecture and the photo geekery.) From the exterior, it looks a bit like a Roman arena. When you enter, you walk into the Promenade, an airy space with some small shops and cafe tables. We were so impressed by all the photo fodder presented by the Promenade area that we didn’t even go inside the actual library.
