photo of the day: scrollwork

Scrollwork

After we left Vancouver, we took a ferry over to Vancouver Island and hopped a bus to Victoria. We tried to make the most of our day and a half there, visiting the city’s photogenic Parliament Buildings, Royal British Columbia Museum and other sights within walking distance.

This photo was taken the evening we arrived, from the steps of the Parliament Building. The building had closed for the day, and as the sun drew lower, there were fewer and fewer people hanging around the expansive front lawn. A security guard seemed to keep his eye on us but didn’t interfere as Rob and I walked all around the front lawn and up to the front doors, snapping photos of everything from stained glass windows to copper domes. With the number of tourists that come through here, he’s probably seen it all by now.
