A few months ago, I stumbled across the MySpace profile of Jenna Fischer, who plays Pam in NBC’s The Office. Instead of being a vacuous promotional piece, Jenna’s MySpace blog is a surprisingly engaging look at the life of a young actress who seems very sweet, down-to-earth and humbled by her recent success. Stuff like her post today just underscores why I love reading her blog:

I did buy a package of 10 pilates workouts at my local pilates studio over the summer. I only used 7 of them. Typical. It is interesting all the tricks I use to make myself workout…”I would work out all the time if only I had an iPod”. That worked for about a week. “What I need is a spreadsheet where I chart my progress”. That worked for one day. It was fun making the spreadsheet though.

She just seems so normal … And the struggles with the gym? That’s so me. (One of the writers at Popwatch seems to be a big fan, too.)

Speaking of The Office, Jenna recently linked to a new NBC promo for the show which centers around the Jim/Pam romance. As much as I love the relationship, the promo just makes me mad, reducing everything to a silly soap opera. Still, it’s served to make me even more impatient for the show’s return next month.
