refining the filter

Rob and I have narrowed down our list of condo prospects and have begun looking at financing options. It’s sort of exciting and nauseating all at the same time.

It also means that I have to be extra-careful when going through my e-mail. I’ve been inundated with home mortgage spam over the past few years, and it’s become an almost instinctual reaction for me to immediately hit the “delete” button whenever I see one of those messages. But now I really have to look closely at these things: I nearly deleted an e-mail from our broker yesterday with the subject line “Mortgage pre-approval.”

Congrats on the pre-approval…step one, out of the way!

LOL. I had the same exact experience, only I almost didn’t delete the important emails, I almost added more weight to the spam! There were a few moments where I skimmed the finance rate in the spam and thought to myself, wow, that’s tempting. Then I reminded myself it was spam and I deleted it. It’s funny how spam takes on a different meeting depending on what’s going on in your life…
