seen: costumed

Rob and I walked over to the Ballston Mall tonight to run a quick errand, then made a stop at 7-Eleven on the way home. Over the course of the evening, we saw a number of people in costume for early Halloween parties, and a band warming up in the atrium of the National Science Foundation building for what looked to be a big shindig.

Amid all the jocks, wizards, mutants and the like, the costume that stuck out most to me was one of the tackiest: While waiting in line at the 7-Eleven, I saw a young twentysomething guy walk into the store wearing a tie and dress shirt, with “I ❤ Foley” drawn on the pocket. My best guess was that he was dressing up as a Congressional page, referencing the Mark Foley scandal.

Classy.
