daily links
Regular visitors to this blog may have noticed that I’ve had almost-daily posts with lists of links and a scant number of actual posts from me. For the past few weeks, I was off in Elections Land and didn’t have much time to blog, but I still coming across tons of stories that I meant to blog about.
Enter the del.icio.us daily blog post.
Even when I don’t have time to post, I do read a lot every day. And inevitably I’ll come across an interesting article or blog post or nifty thingamajig that I’ll want to save. I usually bookmark these things in my del.icio.us account so I can find them later. I found out a while back that the online bookmarking service has a (poorly-documented) feature that automatically posts a digest of everything you’ve bookmarked in a given day to your blog.
With all the recent craziness, I decided to set up an almost-daily link post to my own blog. This way, even if I’m not posting myself, the page doesn’t look completely stale.
I realize, though, that a blog consisting purely of links to other stuff isn’t necessarily all that interesting, and I promise that it’s not going to be all-links, all the time, except when I’m super-busy with no time to post. But at least this way I’ll be able to say, albeit in an impersonal way, “Hey, this is interesting…” even when I’m super-busy.
