parent hacks

parenthacks_20070111.jpgThe other day, while reading a blog about, I think, personal finance, I came across a badge for a parenting Web site whose text made me giggle:

I hack my kids.
parenthacks.com

So, of course, I had to check it out.

(“Hack,” in this instance being another case of the computer-culture term for “clever solution to a problem” being applied to regular life situations, a la “life hacks.”)

And, despite not being a parent, I really enjoyed the site, in which parents exchange “practical parenting wisdom.” (My favorite entry so far: “Tivo Taught My Kid to Read.”)

And despite the fact that it’s a bit difficult to make out when it’s shrunk down, I adore the site’s logo illustration of a kid-oriented Swiss army knife.
