on the telly
This afternoon I have tickets to a taping of The Daily Show here in New York. I’ve been super-psyched for about a month about this, and it’s a bit weird that it’s finally here.
Since they overbook every show to make sure the audience is full, my seat isn’t guaranteed. So, for now, I’m camping out for a little bit at a Starbucks a few blocks away. They suggest that folks start queuing up between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m., though doors don’t open until 5:15 p.m. This is the whole reason I came up to New York this weekend, so I hope I get in! I’m a huge fan of the show (and they made fun of a graphic I worked on last year!) and really want to see how things work behind-the-scenes.
Tonight’s guest is Craig Newmark, of craigslist — quite geekily appropriate. The show airs on Comedy Central at 11 p.m. ET (and will re-air several times tomorrow).
