getting connected

Internet service has been downright painful — even Pine has been super-sluggish. Bleh. I knew it would be bad this morning when things were sluggish even before the conference started; now that it’s between sessions and seemingly half the attendees are trying to login, I can barely even get Lynx to work. (Firefox just isn’t happening.) This was a problem last year, too; it’s a pity things don’t seem to have improved.

(That said, it has been an interesting experiment trying to figure out how (or even whether) my installation of Movable Type will let me post via Lynx. The answer: It’s a painful process, but it’s almost doable, assuming your Internet connection is reasonably responsive.)
