bouncing back

I’d been thinking for a while that a vacation might be nice. Take a couple days off, catch up on a few things, just generally chill out.

Getting sick and spending a week on the couch wasn’t exactly what I had in mind.

And, man, this bug was nasty, starting with fatigue, sore throat and heavy post-nasal drip on Sunday night, developing into full-on fever and sinus congestion on Wednesday.

I hate being that sick — being at that point where I’m not just feeling crappy, I’ve been clotheslined and I’m not really up for anything except napping fitfully on the couch.

Finally, on Friday I woke up feeling almost like a new person. Sure, the congestion was still there, but that “death warmed over” fog had lifted and I felt “human” again. All that’s left now is some lingering tiredness and a cough that makes me sound a lot worse than I really feel.

This weekend should be a good opportunity to get back on track. After a week out of commission, I have a lot to catch up on.
