grim

I’m still having trouble wrapping my head around Monday’s events at Virginia Tech, or even coming up with words to describe my reaction. It’s a sad, tragic story, and I feel for those who were affected by it.

One thing that brings it slightly close to home for me is that most of the victims were in the same age range as my own siblings, the youngest of whom are attending college classes now.

And then there’s just the utter randomness of it all — to wake up on just another Monday not knowing that it’s the last day of your life, or that a loved one will suddenly just be gone. But then, that utter randomness is true any day. Monday was just a grim reminder of that fact.
