this weekend: race for the cure

[Logo: Race for the Cure]I keep meaning to post about this but keep getting sidetracked, and now it’s pretty much too late…

Tomorrow morning, Rob and I will be participating in our third Race for the Cure, a 5K run/walk through downtown D.C. to benefit breast cancer programs. I’m walking in honor of my grandmother, who survived a bout with the disease eleven years ago.

The Komen National Race for the Cure is one of more than 100 Races to be held nationwide in 2007. Each year, a minimum of $1 million raised from the Komen National Race funds breast health and breast cancer programs in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. The remaining dollars support the Komen Award and Research Grant Program, which has invested more than $180 million dollars over the past 25 years in groundbreaking breast cancer research.
