lambertville

Lambertville

On our way home last Sunday, we made a small side-trip to Lambertville, N.J., to find the house where my grandmother grew up. My mom and aunt lived here for a time as well, when my grandfather was deployed abroad during the Vietnam War. My great-grandparents sold the house in the 1980s, and for a time it was either a law office or a real estate office. Now it appears to house a furniture / antiques shop.

The town of Lambertville itself is quite cute — lots of small shops, restaurants, galleries and well-maintained old houses, plus an easy crossover to New Hope, Penn., an artsy town I hear is also quite nice. Hopefully we can come back sometime for a real visit — there’s even a bed and breakfast right across the street from Nan and Pop’s old house.

Comments

Ah yes, Lambertsville. I visit New Hope a couple of times a year, and sometimes we venture into Lambertsville. My boss got married there.

I was cruising some campus maps and found your blog listed in google. Hope all is well.
