cape henlopen

Sunset at Cape Henlopen State Park, Del.

On Saturday, Rob and I drove up to Delaware to meet up with Rachel and, according to our plan at least, reprise our February outing to Rehoboth Beach. The ridiculously dense beach traffic, however, prompted us to alter course, heading a few miles north to Cape Henlopen State Park.

Rob and I last visited Cape Henlopen on a cold March afternoon in 2005. This time around, the weather was much warmer and the beach far busier, but otherwise the park didn’t seem to have changed much (and that’s a good thing).

The three of us spent the afternoon on the beach on the Atlantic side of the park, and it was wonderful — low-key, relaxing, just chill.

Later in the day, we watched a spectacular sunset from the Delaware Bay side of the park — the same part of the park Rob and I visited back in 2005.
