camping in the living room
For the second night in a row, Rob and I are camped out in the living room, sleeping on an air mattress. It’s kind of fun, actually — a bit of an adventure (and one that doesn’t involve some kind of automotive mishap!).
At the moment, our bedroom is in a state of disarray — though for a good reason. The last owner of our condo lived here for several years, and when she moved out, there were outlines on the wall from some of her posters and wall-hangings. One of those shadow-outlines was on a wall right next to the bed, and, for me, it became yet another nagging little detail to obsess over. As of yesterday, it’s finally gone.
Rob and I spent part of this weekend repainting the bedroom. The walls are blue (rather, “Cumberland Fog”) instead of the former yellowy, light “almond” color. And, boy, did I attack that shadow wall with gusto.
Our next steps: 1) paint all the trim white; 2) replace the electrical sockets (1 down, 3 to go) and light switches; 3) print some of our beach-related photos to hang over the bed; 4) put all the furniture back. It’s a disaster area right now (and reeking a bit of paint fumes, hence our exodus to the living room), but it’s coming together quite nicely.
