pants on fire

Pants on FireI’m generally not a huge fan of animated gifs — except when they’re done well. And this “Pants on Fire” graphic, part of the “Truth-o-Meter” at PolitiFact.com, is near-genius. I love the attitude and sheer ballsiness of it — especially considering that the site is sponsored by the St. Petersburg Times and Congressional Quarterly, institutions I normally think of as being more reserved.

As a side note, the whole site, actually, is rather cool. It’ll be interesting to see how it evolves as the campaign goes on.

(Thanks to Derek for the link.)

All credit and praise for the pants on fire graphic goes to St. Petersburg Times designer Martin Frobisher. I’ve been dying for that graphic to get out into the public for weeks now. Glad you like it.

Kudos to Martin on the icon, then. :) And kudos to you and your team for the site — it’s very cool.
