across the universe

For whatever reason, I’m ridiculously excited that Across the Universe is out this weekend. (Thank you, Rob for the reminder.) I’ve wanted to see it since I saw this trailer a month or two ago:

A Julie Taymor production of a Beatles-themed musical? I hear the story’s a bit thin, but I have high hopes for the visuals and music. (And I’m kind of equating this with Moulin Rouge, another movie musical that, while a bit thin on the story, had great visuals and relied heavily on easily recognizable pop songs.)
