Washington Post: Virginia General Assembly Map

As part of our election night coverage, I’ve put together a Flash-based map of the Virginia General Assembly House and Senate districts that displays election results (by party) as they come in. (Kudos to Larry Sanderson for setting up the XML output.)

Those colors aren’t saturated enough for a colorblind guy like me to easily tell them apart, I have to strain to see the difference…

Kearns — Thanks for bringing that up. I’ll take contrast into account the next time I do a map like this.

Bill — Thank you! Each inset map is another instance of the main map, just blown up and with a mask over the relevant region.
