npr: the question

Screenshot of The Question on NPR.org

Yesterday at work, we launched a new feature called The Question. The hosts of All Things Considered often interview notable figures -- politicians, musicians, artists, etc. As the conversation gets rolling, before moving on to more serious subjects, a host might ask an interviewee about what they're reading, listening to, etc. The Question is a collection of those responses, and we'll be adding more to it as time goes on.

This project was also my first instance of working directly with the Daylife API. (I've worked on Daylife-related projects before at washingtonpost.com, such as the Issue Coverage Tracker or photo feeds from the conventions, but in those cases, someone else handled the actual code that interfaced with Daylife.) The application here was fairly basic -- querying the DayPI for NPR headlines related to the person currently featured -- but it was a good opportunity to learn how to work with the service.
